Best deal on Makarovs?

I would like to get another Mak and was wondering who currently had the best deal going on either unissued Bulgarian Maks or possibly an E. German Mak. I had heard that Century International was selling Bulgies for $99 delivered, but it wasn't clear whether they wer unissued or used.

Thanks

Best Mak?

Hey guys, with all this talk about Makarovs, I was wondering which one is considered the best in quality? I could have gotten one years ago but just never have broken down and done it. Which ones would you recommend...Russian, Bulgarian, East German, etc.? Thanks!

glock: read up about Maks at Makarov.com.

If I had a choice, I'd take the EG. They have a better fit and finish than the other Maks. After that, a Russian military Mak (with fixed sights), and only after that a Bulgarian military. That said, the only Mak I own is a Bulgie and I'm very happy with it. Bottom line: they're all good.

I got my Mak at AIM for $99 plus shipping. That's after they ran out of EGs and gave me a special deal. They're selling them for $120 now, but they are unissued, come with a holster (mine was a Russian holster with a set of loops for the takedown tool and a strap inside to keep the Mak higher so you won't have to reach in to extract it), two matching mags, and a takedown tool. All packed in cosmoline and shipped to your favorite FFL dealer.

Check with Greg Monte at Jersey City Armory. Sorry I dont have his website address handy. I'm sure its on here if you do a search. I would call him directly and let him do some digging for you. He's great to work with.

Cheers,
Paul

AIM Surplus has a great deal going for the East German Makarov. The E.G. and Russians are considered C&Rs if you have a 03FFL. Their address is http://www.aimsurplus.com

On many of the collector forums I hang out on, the E.G. is considered the best in overall quality.
Hope this helps, Good Luck! They are neat pistols and cheap to shoot.

His Bulgies are a bit more expensive, though.
