What's the best deal you ever got/made for a firearm? I saw an ad the other day where someone was selling a truck and would do a partial trade for some rifles and cash. Made me wonder what other deals have been made involving firearms.

A co-worker decided he was in the mood for a .22 and traded me a S&W K-38 and holster straight up for a Ruger Single Six Convertible.

Free from FIL, free from dad, free from Uncle Joe across the street..... lol

I bought three .303 British Enfields for $180, a No. 1 Mk. III* and two No. 4 Mk. 2s.

All 3 for $180????

A brand new Ruger Redhawk .44, 4" for 43% less than the retail price!

Wow! Where the heck do you shop?

About ten years ago...

Winchester Model 1906 S/L/LR at a flea market...

Woman said it was 'broken', and that I could have it for $30...

I walked away tightening the thumb-screw...

A Ruger No. 1 in 7 mag with bull barrel made in 1977 (I asked Ruger about the history of serial#) for $410. That rifle will shoot 3/4" groups all day long. I'm not sure what it's really worth but it was a bargain to me.

Polytech M14 for $300 from a hardware store. Clerk said it would not cycle rounds in semi-auto. Upon inspection, I noticed the gas port was closed. I shrugged and offered $250, saying I thought I knew a guy that could fix it.

After shooting it for many years, I traded it and $400 for a Springfield M1A Scout:)

So the combination of the purchase and the trade became my ""Best Deal"

I got a browning bps 10 gage pump off my buddy for $400, was only shot a few times. thats about the best I have done other than the gun my father gave me.

Long story:

10 or12 years ago I bought a Colt 1991 off a guy at a gunshow for $250. Two years ago I found a like new Winchester 70 Extreme Weather used for $700 in a store about an hour from home. Paid a $100 deposit on the Winchester and told the guy I'd be back to get it on Saturday. Took the Colt to my LGS and put it up on consignment. Got a call the next day telling me to come in and get my $600. Took the $600 and used it to pay off the Winchester.

Found a used McMillan Edge stock for sale on another forum for $400. Sold the factory stock for $200. Used $225 in Cabelas bucks along with a $75 off coupon to buy a Leupold scope from Cabelas.

I have $1,000 rifle, in a $600 stock with a $400 scope on it. I have $650 of my money in the set up.

In 1985, i got a Marlin Model 1936, in .30 WCF (30-30). Case hardened receiver, square bolt, 5 boxes of vintage Winchester Silver tip ammo, A 3 piece Marbles Cleaning Rod, Bottle of Hoppes 9, Box of patches, and the original box. $100.00.
The rifle has 2 small notches in the grip, 1 box was missing 2 shells. The whole set belong to a buddies grandfather and he wasn't a gun guy. I still all of it minus the Hoppes.

A reblued Colt Police Positive .38 Special for an 1892 Winchester rifle in .32-20 and about 90% condition.
