best/crisp trigger for a semi-auto

I shoot a old Smith and Wesson Model 52 in 38 special today. It is a 38 special that takes wadcutters only. It is used primarily for target/bullseye shooting. I would have to say it has the best trigger i have ever shoot. Even custom 1911s. It is a crisp 2.5 pounds or less. It is amazing.

What is your experience for the best trigger in a semi-auto?

The best trigger I've ever had out of the box was on a Walther P88. The DA pull was as smooth or smoother than a revolver at about 6-7 lbs.

SA was about 4.5. No take-up, no-creep, no stack, (this despite Walther's firing pin safety arangement.) just very crisp let-off.

I had never felt a production trigger as good as that and haven't felt one as good since.

Stock triggers I have pulled and loved...

DA winner: DAO Beretta "Slickslide" 92/96D. Shweet DA pull; smooth, light, even. Honorable mention: Colt-imported Colt Z-40. Exquisite; I have no idea why the newer CZ-imported CZ-40's aren't as smooth, but I'd wager that a bit of polishing would get them there.

SA winner: Much as I like my P7, I don't think any hinged trigger can touch the light, almost-zero-travel trigger on a well-done 1911. Best box-stock one I've owned yet is on my SA Professional. The honorable mention would go to the P7M*, though...

Number 1.) (By a WIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE margin) High Standard. Across the board simply the finest out of box trigger on any stock firearm line ever made.

2.) CZ75b Champion.

I don't know if it is the "best" out of the box trigger I have ever felt (but it came close if it isn't). I had an opportunity to fire a new Para 7.45 LDA last weekend. WOW! Smooth, crisp, amazing. Next time everyone is at your favorite gun store you should at least check this pistol out. I was impressed! :p Just adding another to the "must have" list. :D

For as an outa the box best, no break in/dry firing etc. A CZ83 380 I bought a while ago. 7-8 lb d/a pull smooth and short, 3-4 s/a pull and just has to be felt.
Shoot well

SIG P210 or custom 1911. I'm not sure which, depends on how good a trigger job the 1911 had.

Best trigger I've EVER felt was the single action on my used S&W 610 Classic. No, really... it is about 3-1/2 pounds, tops, with zero takeup or creep. The DA is a bit heavy, but since the SA is so good I'm afraid to let anybody mess with it. :D

My STI framed open gun built by EGW is about 1.6 lb. and my wife's is 1.5 lb. Much more like a switch than a trigger.

Gotta go with my Smith 52-2 as the most amazing trigger I ever had the pleasure of pulling.

Better than my 41 (with Clark trigger job), my 107 citation and 103 citation all combined.

Better than my Kimber that's been worked over and my stock Colt GC (which has the best < 4lb. trigger I ever felt).

There is just something about the 52 that just clicks!

1911s are great, but check out the trigger on a Free Pistol setup sometime. The trigger weight is measured in GRAMS.
