Best Choke For Number 1 Buckshot?

I have a Benelli M2 semi auto with interchangable chokes. Do any of you guys have suggestions which choke to use with Number 1 buckshot?

My gun patterns well w premium (12 pellet) copper plated with its cylinder bore. It also does well with tactical (9 pellet) lead but does not cycle reliably since I have alot of extra weight on the gun. (Sidesaddle w ammo and aluminum fore-end with sure fire light).

It cycles well w number 4, Number 1 and 000 but I start to get doughnut holes past 15 yds with the number 1 and 000.

I wanted something heavier than number 4.

I have a Remington 1100 that loves 000 and it has an improved modified choke.

Thanks for any advice.

Measure the longest shot possible in your home, add a yard, then pattern at that distance.

I'd go with the choke that gave me 5-8" spread at that distance. Others may prefer more spread, but every errant pellet has both a potentail tragedy and a lawsuit attached.

My brain must be dead. I don't understand why having extra weight on a semi would interfere with cycling. Can someone explain?

Because the Benelli m2 is an inertia-driven gun, not gas operated.

Don't know why shot size would cycle and some wouldn't. Try a different brand of magnum 00 buck.
