Best choice between Ruger Bisley or Blackhawk

Looking for opinions on the best choice between the Bisley or Blackhawk varieties for shooting stout .45 Colt rounds. I have fired the Blackhawk and it wasn't too bad but have no experience with the Bisley grip. Anyone know if the frames are similar? I would also consider a Redhawk.. Comments/suggestions appreciated.
Thanks, Brett

While you can't go wrong with either, to my way of thinking, I recall seeing a lot of Bisley frames on custom handguns done by the likes of H. Bowen, Linebaugh, etc. for the very heavy loaded .45 Colt and .454 Causull. (Usually 5-shot).

Personally, I like the Bisley grip better than the blackhawk, but thats just me.

YMMV

Adios

I have a .44 mag bisley-vaquero with 5.5" barrel, and my shooting buddy has a .44 mag 8" anaconda.
With the same loads, he can shoot a box of 50 before the inside of his thumb develops blisters.
I shoot the same loads (But not in his colt.) all day long with no discomfort.
The bisley-vaquero actually shoots 'softer' than my .41 mag blackhawk.

I can't say anything about the Blackhawk, but I do own 4 Ruger Bisley's. A small frame .22 LR, large frame bisley in .357 mag, .44 magnum and .45 LC.

Supposedly, the bisley's handle recoil better than the regular blackhawk's because of the shape of the grip.

Personally feel that the appearance of the bisley is nicer than that of the blackhawk. JMHO.

Safe shooting.

Plus the Bisleys have steel grip frames where the blued Blackhawks have the aluminum grip frame. Personally do not care for the appearance of the aluminum grip frames.

I shoot stout loads in my Blackhawk Bisley. With the 335 gr bullets the grip is a lot more comfortable than my standard Blackhawk. Hope to take a Wisconsin deer with this handgun combination this year. Which ever .45 Colt you go with don't forget to get thr throats reamed to shrink the group (an unabashed comercial)

I have shot many of the "hot and heavy" Corbon loads with various grip and frame styles. Without a doubt, the Bisley handles recoil the best. I think many will agree.

P.S. my Bisley experience is with Rugers in 44 mag. and 45 Colt.

629 Shooter, the steel (or brass) grip frame not only looks better but the added weight, especially with big bores, adds more stability and is easier to hold on target. I have one of each in .41 cal. and the one with brass grip frame is much better at making up for my (poor) ability at 25 yds.
