Depends on your needs. If you don't care about being especially "period correct" I like the Triple K brand gunbelts. Pretty heavy duty leather that takes a lot of abuse. I wear mine around the farm almost every day.

You said "cartridge belt" not "gunbelt", so maybe a "prairie belt" will fit the bill for you? They usually go for somewhere between $35 & $60.

I like them as they hold (in this size) 42 rounds of ammunition up to 45-70 caliber & the canvas sleeve doesn't discolor the brass like leather does. Several versions exist just Google for "Prairie belt" to do a comparison shop. This one is actually upside down to show the bottom stitching. The top is stitch free wraparound style.

As period correct as can be had for the price range would be nice. The prairie belt is nice. What time period would that fit?

The prairie belt is nice. What time period would that fit?

Buffalo hunters & Sharps BPCR rifle era. No earlier than 1866 I guess because of the introduction date for the cartridge.

I just bought "The Duke" cartridge belt from Cimarron Arms for $104. It is an exact reproduction of the one worn by John Wayne in most of his movies. You might like it. Brown roughout leather with the smooth texture beltstrap leather. I Like it a lot.
