Best brand of moon clips?

For metal or RIMZ www.moonclips.com should be able to fix you up.

I don't think who you buy from really makes much difference. Lots of folks sell moon clips, but I'd be suprised if there were more than a handfull of actual manufactures.

1/3 and 1/2 moon clips can be loaded and unloaded by hand. I don't use my 1/2 moon clips, but the 1/3 moon clips are great when you want to put your clipped ammo in boxes. They alos allow you the option of "topping off" you cylinder.

Good Luck...

Joe

Lots of people like the Rimz for ease of loading. However, if you just want metal clips that are dependable and durable, you can get very good examples off Ebay pretty cheap.

I use metal clips from TK Custom and Wilson Combat for my S & W 625. They cost about $1 each but work great and will last forever.

I use "generic" metal clips I pick up at gunshows at five for a dollar prices. I've never seen much difference between the expensive metal clips and the cheap ones.

Source for 1/2 and 1/3 moon clips?

I've been using Ranch Products full moon clips in my 625 and they work great. I really don't understand why some people dislike steel full moon clips.

I recently bought some Rimz from Brownells to try. They work well and are a little easier to load and unload without tools but the steel clips are so much less expensive and I already have about a hundred of them so I don't anticipate changing to Rimz anytime soon.

I recently bought an S&W 1917 and I'd like to try half and 1/3 clips. Where can I get them?

Use the RIMZ for range work, and the steel for serious work. I have enough metal Full Moon Clips that I can easier keep 1500 rds mooned. I do it on Sunday afternoons watching football, etc. Get one of the Remooner Tools, and that will save the fingers!

I've got some Ranch Product 1/3 and full moon clips that I've been using since they started business. Very durable.
