Was searching around and couldn't find anything much
I recently got...
a Colt Frontier Scout .22, I would guess any bulk .22lr would work in this?

A S&W 357 mag, I plan to pick up .38spl ammo for this. And a colt anaconda .44 mag. Looking to buy cheap if possible so would Wadcutters be ok? or should I get round nosed or ...?

All shooting would strictly be target type. And guns aren't mine (I am storing for a friend who is in a rough period and pays me in free use of his guns) so want to keep them in good shape so if a certain ammo would cause trouble I would want to avoid.

Thanks

I shoot nothing but lead SWC in mine. If you're buying factory stuff, shoot anything you want...won't harm the pistol.

Since you didn't specify which gun you are asking about, I will comment on all three.

For the .22 LR, I enjoy plinking with the Federal Bulk ammunition that comes in a box of 550 rounds from Walmart, very inexpensive and it shoots accurately.

For the 357, you can buy the CCI Blazer in a 158 grain .38 special round nose that will shoot accurately enough and not cause any damage to your buddies gun. Also Magtech is an inexpensive line of 38 and 357 ammunition that is definately within the "safe" limits to shoot in your guns.

For the 44, I would shoot anything 240 grain and lower. Most factory 240 grain factory loads shoot in the 1400 fps range, you can also get 44 special loads to shoot in it that are pretty tame and fun to shoot. Definately more accurate than the 44 magnums, most of the time. CCI Blazer has a 200 grain bullet that is fun to shoot in 44 special, it uses a gold dot hollow point, and not bad on the wallet.

* These are just loads that I have found to be fun and decently inexpensive, there may be cheaper loads out there, but these are my preference from personal experience, price and accuracy.
