T Texas2NC New member Apr 24, 2002 #1 I have a CCU and was wondering if anyone could suggest the best load or .45 variant ( .45 Super??) for the 16.25" barrel. I want to push the limits a bit but don't want to alter the basic weapon.

G George Hill Staff Alumnus Apr 24, 2002 #4 Triton makes a load called SMC, or Short Magnum Cartridge. Hot stuff. Would be BOMBASTIC out of a 16 inch tube.

M MACMAN10 New member Apr 24, 2002 #5 I have a Mech tech CCU (Springfield 1911)in .460 Rowland. It hits just like the Ruger .44 carbine. But brass is EXPENCIVE $85 for 500. I'm going to(try to) make some out of .308 and see if that works. I'll post a pic when I get to my computer.
