Best .45 ACP CZ-clone

Right now it look like the choises for a clone of the CZ-75 in .45 ACP is the Baby Eagle and the Witness. Yes, I know about the CZ-97, I plan to get one of those too. I just want a slimmer version first.
EAA seems to have terrible people skills and customer service. On the other hand, I really haven't heard anything bad about the Witness.
The Baby Eagle seems to have its ups and downs. The ones that work well seem to be fine. Others seem to have problems with feeding and ejecting.
So what is the consensus here? Which is more reliable?

The witness is basically a solid gun. The larger framed guns, 45 & 10mm seem to fair the best. People either like them alot or they dont.
The Eagle has a better history than the witness line. Both are built heavy and are reasonably priced. See if you can rent one and try it out. Shoot well

I like my Tanfoglio Witness in .45ACP alot. Got mine with the "Wonder Finish" and so far it's been accurate. Trigger feels nice and no failures of any kind. I was lucky and ran across this one used and saved a bunch over a CZ-97.

Or how about a Charles Daly DDA compact? Even though CD is discontinuing the model it still is covered by the warranty. Also CDNN has them for $279.

WITNESS (or CZ)

Satisfaction will be based on your specific example.

I know many folks who swear by their 45 Witnesses, but my mine, although tremendously accurate, was completely unreliable both feeding and ejecting.
However, I fit a 38 Super top end and the gun is flawless and superbly accurate.

I have the fullsize charles daly DDA. The pistol is really accurate has a good trigger and is reliable now that I fixed the slide stop spring. The pistol shoots dead on which is good because the rear sight is fixed and isn't windage adjustable. The sight is made of the same polymer as the frame and is held in place by a screw. It looks like there would be no replacement aftermarket sight. For $279 from cdnn it is a good buy. Mark

What's CDNN where these CD DDA's are going for $279? Is it an internet company?

I only had one CD 1911 Govt model, and although it was one of the disparaged earlier productions, it was a good gun.
