Best 41 mag

Got a gap in my collection, need a 41 mag, need a few opinions on who makes the best 41 in a revolver. Was thinking about a model 57 smith but not many of those around.

The Smith M57 is the classic .41 in my opinion. The .41 Redhawk is a great gun too. In the traditon of TFL, I advise getting both. Get the M57 first.

Marlin. Oh, you mean a revolver. ;)

I'd agree with Mike Irwin. A 57 (pinned and recessed without -#) or a 58. The 57 would be much easier to find.

I've never owned a Dan Wesson. Might also be an option (and there still in production).

Easier to find 657 now; or at least for a reasonable price.
All are good however.

The Ruger are also excellent in SA.
Hard to find the DA most days.

Taurus is not bad for the price.

Never found a Dan Wesson. at my price.
Enjoy.

If the 41 trackers are anything like my .357 tracker then they would be a good thing to look at.I think I got a start on 357's, I am leaning towards either a 41 or 45acp and the tracker is probably going to be one of the first I am going to buy.

If I go 41 I am not sure which one will follow, but if I go 45acp I will follow with a 1911 and a 625 who knows????

No new Smith & Wessons for me--I don't do business with companies that practice anti-Second Amendment bigotry--but as soon as I return to the United States from the People's Republic of California, I'll be in the market for a model 657 with a four-inch barrel and a round butt.

Tried a rugar blackhawk in a 41, had a tendancy to pound me a little more than I liked, had the same problem with a super blackhawk, got rid of both, picked up a 29-3 smith and it was ergonomicaly a lot nicer to shoot, so hoping I will find the same to be true with the 41 mag. got ammo and dies and no gun.

I have two S&W mod 57's and would sell one of them. One is the pinned model and comes in a wood presentation box. If interested contact me via PM.

I bought a Dan Wesson .41 mag, 6" bbl, several months ago and love it. I really like the option that I can exchange barrels easily (tools included) 4" and 8".

I also own and enjoy shooting .41 mag in
S&W 57
Ruger Blackhawk
Marlin CB 336

I almost had a Super Redhawk but it was sold before I could get it.

I was going to purchace the Tracker but was advice that the recoil was unbearable due to it's lack of heft combined with such a powerful round.

Shot the .357 tracker once, and would never do it again. ports mean recoil comes straight back (hurts.) would not even bother to try the .41. However it is probably the most efficient .41 package there is. Maybe ok for carry a lot, shoot a little (hiking, camp gun.)

checked guns america, saw both a 57 and a 27 and checked out the one you mentioned, good price, to bad no pic. Have checked with one of the dealers that I do business with for a tranfer he says no problem just find one I want and let him know.

Any cal.

Looking or one to shoot alot so don't want one that will abuse me, have shot ported guns before and must say I don't like them, espically if your shooting into the wind.
thanks for the imput all.:)

I'm suprised that no ones mentioned the S&W .41 mag Mt. Gun. I have one and it is a real nice shooter. Accurate, not abusive to shoot and looks cool!
