Your primary concern should be for reliability, reliability, and reliability, in that order, for any auto loading gun. Then you can worry about that extra 1% that seperates the "best" from the "worst" premium self defense round.
Nest, concentrate on actually hitting your target, or, accuracy, accuracy, and accuracy. Can't stop what you can't hit. And remember, a shot to the hand may not have the same effect as a shot to the chest, so shoot for effect, too.
Face it, you're going to miss. What makes you think that a round that goes all the way through your BG is MORE dangerous to innocent bystandards than the bullets that miss, and are still at FULL velocity?
Considder expansion as a bonus, as few hollow points really expand as text book perfect in HUMANS as they do in gelatin, or deer, or hogs, or goats......you get the picture.
HydraShoks have a good record, but are the least (statistically) accurate. Golden Sabers seem to have a good all around reputation, but little real evidence supports this, as few agencies actually issue this round, or are willing to make public the politically incorrect results of the bullets on the BG's (wouldn't want to violate their civil liberties, now would we?" Same for Gold Dots. Supreme SXT's are the updated untested/unproven new version of the old Black Talon. The PMC StarFire was designed by the same guy that designed the original HydraShok, and are prone to plugging and are very velocity sensitive when it comes to expansion.
That said, I carry 124gn+P GoldDots in my 3 inch PT111, and GoldenSabers in my 4 inch Sigma.
Remember, barrel legnth affects velocity. Velocity affects expansion.

You can never be too rich, too skinny, or too well armed!
