Best +1 mag extension? Vang Comp or Scattergun?

I'm getting geared up for a short barrelled shotgun (SBS). Right now I'm in the process of setting up the NFA trust.

I plan to get a 14" barrel for my 870 Police Magnum and add a +1 extension.

Have any of you guys done a side-by-side comparison of the Hans Vang +1 extension with the Scattergun +1 extension? The Vang is $75 and the Scattergun is $45. However, I want the absolute best product I can get my hands on, and I don't mind spending the extra $30 even if it's only a tad better.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Vang Comp vs ST

I haven't compared them side by side but used Brownell's descriptions to compare for myself. I ended up buying the ST +1 for my Hawk 982.
Both are solidly built. Both come with sling mount options, however, only the ST offers a bottom mount. Both offer left hand mounting. It states the Vang can be switched to right side and the ST is stationary, however the mountings look similar leading me to believe the ST can be switched to right hand if desired. Only the ST offer a sling swivel option. Both come with a new spring and hi-vis follower.
I personally do not see the $30 difference in price.
I did buy the Vang safety over the ST.

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually leaning toward the ST because of the bottom mount.

Which in my mind is an absolute "must have" on an short scattergun! It works as a hand stop to keep our fingers from getting fried or worse. Enjoy your new toy, I spent many years with a M-1 S90 entry gun, as "Hawkeye Pierce" would say, FINEST KIND.

Good Luck & Stay Safe
