Bersa issues, maybe?

I recently decided to remove the magazine disconnect safety on my Bersa thunder and all went well with that. However, once I put the slide and grips back on I noticed that when I pulled the trigger in double action I can very clearly hear and ever so slightly feel the half-cock engage. I never remember hearing it engage with a click at all before. Is it always that loud and I'm just crazy and don't remember it? Also, now if I cycle the slide slowly the single action pull will have a slightly staged affect where for whatever reason the disconnector bar needs to move forward a bit before the disconnector spring engages it and pushes it up into the correct position. This issue does not occur when releasing the slide fully from the rearward position. I attempted to put the magazine disconnect back in to see if the problems continued but had some issues with that and decided either way I still don't want to have it in my bersa. So if anyone has any insight on this I would be greatly appreciative.
