My local pawn shop has 3 bersa 380's...2 in blued an 1 in stainless or shiny aluminum(not sure, didnt handle it)

He's asking 230$ a piece....is this a fair price for these walther clones?

oh and the blued one i handled had a double stack mag in it if that makes difference

It would depend upon condition. I would probably choose the double stack if all were in equal condition and pay no more than about $175 for a used Bersa Thunder .380 in very good condition. (blue book is a little more if in 95% and higher condition) I think the chrome is considered the Deluxe (actually two tone).

You can buy a new Bersa (deluxe single stack, 7 round) for around or less than $300 and get a life-time warranty. I would recommend this if you want a Bersa. I have already had to send my Bersa Thunder .380 back for factory repair.

It is an inexpensive pistol; therefore buy a new one unless you can get a great deal on the used one.

No gun shop locally stocks them IIRC, only see them at gun shows and theres only like 2 or three tables outta a ton that have them in stock, on top of that they want $289.99

It is a good price on Buds, but don't forget you will have to pay an FFL transfer fee ($25 - $35 in my part of the country), and I assume shipping. If you buy locally new or used you will need to calculate sales tax. (once again in my area, this can be up to 10%)

Consider all your options and total cost of ownership. I still recommend a new gun with the life-time warranty vs. a used gun in this category.

I'd have to agree with Lamar on this one. I would spring for the extra bucks and get a brand new one. Its an excellent little weapon for the money, you can't go wrong. I bought one when I first began to carry some 14 years ago and still love it, although I don't carry it or shoot it often anymore(to many choices). Unless you can talk the shop down under $200, and have confidence in your ability to spot potential problems in a used gun, I'd get a new one, you wont regret it. :)

I too agree with Lamar and Locnload. Spend the extra money and get a new one. I purchased one about a year and a half ago brand new for $275 and haven't looked back! Bersa's are reliable excellent guns!
