Berry bullets

I see 3 choices for 9mm 124g berrys. Typical round nose, target hollow point.
9 mm 124 gr Hollow Base Flat Point Thick Plate.

Anyone tried any of these.

Been using the round nose in my matches, but would like cleaner hole without jams.

TIA

Ive shot the round nose and HBFP, they are pretty accurate. Never any issues with jams. I load them light near starting loads, switched over to FMJ though so i dont use them any more.

I just shot a bunch of 124gr HBFPTP today along with 115gr RN. I used up all the 124gr RN I had and haven't bought more. I like the HBFP, they shoot well, make clean holes and feed w/o any problems in 2 guns. I haven't loaded any hollow points.

I make it a sport to see how low I can go on a cost per round, so I typically buy the 115.

But I bought some 124 round nose once when they were on sale, and I couldn’t tell the difference from the 115, performance wise. No jams. Fed cleanly. I had no complaints.

I love Berry’s played when they’re on sale. Berry’s or Bullet Works.

I just finished using up a box of 500 RN with flat base. I've never had a problem I can remember. I use 115 for target use and recently started using BAYOU BULLETS Hi-Tek coated bullets cuz they're about 10 miles away from me. I go pickup what I order to save shipping. But no issues with the Berry's when used.

Yes I have been thru 2000+ and have another 2000 sitting on my self waiting to be loaded.
So Kevin, how did you load the Berry’s 124gr? You know my 115gr experience. Shot up the 250 I’d initially purchased, went back to Cabela’s for more...and all 115gr was out...except for Hornady HP XTP...too costly for me. Picked up 1,000 rds of 124gr CP RN, again, all they had in stock. I used my HP-38 and worked up loads from 3.7gr to 4.0, COL 1.150”, but 1.155” on the 4.0gr loads. Slide failed to lock back on the 3.7gr loads, but everything shot fine, and pretty nearly the same accuracy. If I squint at the targets, maybe the 3.8gr and 3.9 gr were a bit closer groups, and nearer to where I’d intended the puka to be in the paper.
I just grabbed some new powders in Bullets.com closing sale...1lb each of WST, VV N-320, and Ramshot Silhouette. This gives me 4 different powder choices, and I believe they all have loads for Berry’s CP bullets. I’m ready to get busy. 300 9mm cases cleaned, sized, primed, and expanded. Can’t wait.

Hi Mark,
Pretty much the same as what you just did with HP-38. I started at 3.9gr at 1.160" OAL and finally found that the 4.1gr to 4.3gr at 1.155" just shot the best.

Am just now working up loads with the 124gr Hollow Base using AA#5, Silhouette and the HP-38. So far I am really pleased with the Ramshot loaded between 4.9gr and 5.1gr. The AA#5 at starting loads my 92 didn't like them.
