Beretta's new "eccono class" over and under

Isn't Beretta supposed to bring out an affordable over and under?
Does any one know what the price is going to be?
Any other info?

The Whitewing is the model, and runs maybe $1500. Is that affordable?

You may want to look for a used Beretta, they're around and oft cheaper than that.

The newest issue of Guns & Ammo talks about a new one called the Blackwing. Also--$1500 seems a little high for a Whitewing----I just bought a NIB 687 Silver Pidgeon II last night for $1499.

Seems like they had the Whitewing for $1050 or $1100----not sure because I wasn't paying that much attention to the Whitewing----well it's more like I was wrapped up in the one I was buying. My new little 20 ga looks even better now that I got it home and cleaned her up right.

I believe that Beretta still markets the 686 Essential, which is a bit less expensive than the Whitewing. It will still set you back around $1000 or so.

I haven't heard of a Berretta O/U for less than that.

I don't know how they (Beretta) could bring the price down more than the whitewing,( which I think is a decent gun ) unless they want to sell an AA silver or Tristar type model. I saw a NIB whitewing 12ga 28" for $900. or so ,If Beretta would only offer a lefty stock or make this gun with no cast I would have bought it in a heart beat.

$900 is the wholesale price for the Whitewing. Someone must have gotten them on a special to sell one retail that cheap.

rugerfreak:

Damn that is a good price for your 687SPII. I just got of the phone with my guy, my price is $1600, still not bad but more than yours. You mind if I ask where, a store, a guy, gun show, etc?

How do you like it so far? This is gonna be maily a skeet and dove gun, and SC where I have to collect my hulls, otherwise, I will use my 391 Sporting Gold.

Thanks

Brad

I bought it at Scheel's in Lincoln NE----is was the last SPII they had---but it was exactly the one I wanted: 20ga with 26 in barrels---I think they were trying to turn over some inventory by pricing it that way.

Scheel's gives great deals if you can just wait them out----Everything new and different is priced sky high--then after it sits there for awhile--they deep discount to get it out the door and turn over inventory for something else new and different.

They also had a 12ga 687 SPI(one---not two) with 28 in barrels for $1399 IIRC. Real nice stock on that one---but I wanted a 20ga.

It's really nice since I got it all cleaned up right---I won't get a chance to shoot it till this weekend. It handles like a magic wand--its so light I could use it even if I only had one hand. I'll be using this one for some Sporting Clays--Doves---Quail---and early season Pheasants. I'll leave the dirty work for my ES100 semi-auto.
