Beretta's Bruniton is sprayed on?

This is probably a dumb question - but is Bruniton sprayed on or is it some kind of anodizing process? A decent looking Beretta 8000 is at a LGS - but the frame is fairly worn in a few spots. I think Cerakote would look great on the frame but I don't know if it would be as durable as Beretta's original Bruniton finish - or if it would look original?

It's enamel.
It would have to be applied then probably baked
It could be likely sprayed, brushed or dipped
