Beretta! Wow - what service!!

Bought a used 92FS, but knew it had some problems. Seller discounted the price so I could get it repaired as necessary.

While at the SHOT Show in Vegas I discussed what to do with a Beretta rep. He gave me their phone number, and suggested I send it back to the factory.

Sent it UPS, next day air - expensive! About $50, including packing materials and insurance.

It took Beretta 2 to 3 weeks, but I received the firearm back yesterday.

They replaced the trigger spring and slide stop spring. No charge. Checked the headspace, and also found the prior owner had assembled the pistol incorrectly. No charge. Returned it to me via UPS, next day air. No charge. They even included a plastic case for the firearm. No charge. And, of course, they had previously sent a manual to me for the pistol. No charge.

This was way beyond the call of duty, in my book. People get into a twist about some companies, but I must say that this industry has also shown some of the best service I have ever seen on consumer products. It is laughable that people treat these companies as though they don't care about safety - what other industry sends out free owners manuals for products that are many years old?

Beretta is a very, very class act.

Good report.

I've also had positive experiences with Beretta's service department. Recently, for example, I sent them a 96 with a bashed rear sight. They replaced the sight, test fired it for correct point of aim, and even included the test target. Very thorough. :)

Reports on Beretta's customer service are overwhelmingly positive. That, coupled with their eff-yoo reply to Glendenning's attempted bribery, have put their products on my gottahavvit list.

Great news. I'm thinking about buying another Beretta soon, just because they truely support us!

beretta's a great company. they make good firearms, have good customer service, and are actually pro gun. they're one of the few firearms manufacturers that haven't done all these stupid things that help gun control people. many other companies are making smart guns and other things like fingerprinting their barrels. beretta refuses to do any of these things and that makes me even more of a proud beretta owner than i already am.

Jeff,

Glad your story has a happy ending; though I'm not surprised given Beretta's reputation.
I'm sitting here looking at my 92FS, and I can't help but smile.
Of all the handguns I have been fortunate enough to shoot, it's still my favorite... :)

I'll second that motion Fox,I caught the Beretta bug awhile back and can't stop admiring them. I especialy like the Cougar series. One of the few times I have called them for replacement parts they could not have been more customer oriented and helpful.I got exactly what I needed when they said. There will be more Berettas in my future.

Happy Shooting :)
