Bought a used 92FS, but knew it had some problems. Seller discounted the price so I could get it repaired as necessary.
While at the SHOT Show in Vegas I discussed what to do with a Beretta rep. He gave me their phone number, and suggested I send it back to the factory.
Sent it UPS, next day air - expensive! About $50, including packing materials and insurance.
It took Beretta 2 to 3 weeks, but I received the firearm back yesterday.
They replaced the trigger spring and slide stop spring. No charge. Checked the headspace, and also found the prior owner had assembled the pistol incorrectly. No charge. Returned it to me via UPS, next day air. No charge. They even included a plastic case for the firearm. No charge. And, of course, they had previously sent a manual to me for the pistol. No charge.
This was way beyond the call of duty, in my book. People get into a twist about some companies, but I must say that this industry has also shown some of the best service I have ever seen on consumer products. It is laughable that people treat these companies as though they don't care about safety - what other industry sends out free owners manuals for products that are many years old?
Beretta is a very, very class act.
