Beretta trigger job in Ohio?

Does anyone out there know of a good gunsmith in central Ohio for trigger jobs on Berettas? I've called the big boys and don't like the 6-8 week turnaround.

For a quick way to drop pull weight in the Beretta, is to replace the mainspring with a Colt Gold Cup mainspring. LAPD Armours have been doing that trick for years.

I agree with 6mm. 75% of a Beretta trigger job is replacing the mainspring. I am currently using a Wolff 1911 20# spring along with some Brownell's action lube plus. Going less than that seemed to cause occasional light primer hits. Other Beretta-philes suggested using a Beretta Cougar D spring (available from Beretta), which drops the trigger pull down to 9#DA/4#SA.

The cost of either is about $5, so it might be worth a try before sending your gun off. Now that guns need to fly, just the cost of sending your gun off will exceed that amount several fold.

In Central Ohio, try Shawn Herman at Vance's Shooters Supplies, (614) 471-7353. I don't know if he's done any Beretta work but he's a good gunsmith.

Sorry for the long turn around with custom shops, but that is to be expected with quality work, I'ts not the shops fault for the delay, I'ts the demand for work.If you cannot find a GOOD SHOP to do your action job then contact me and I will point you in the right direction,I tell all my customers to allow at least 2-3wks.SC
quote:
Originally posted by wolf 1415:

you could put any of the following trigger springs in your beretta 92 series gun to improve the trigger:

8000 cougar
92D
18# 1911
19# 1911
and i guess some other 1911 springs would work also.

another thing you could do is to send it to Ernest Langdon who works out of Virginia Arms. I know it's not in Ohio but his turn around time for me (in NJ) was about 2 weeks. it would have been longer but he was at the shot show and then they had it sitting there waiting to be shiped for a couple of days. i bet he could get it back to you in about the same time.
his trigger job improved my 92's trigger pull by 1000%. it was amazing. it was so much smoother and lighter in both DA and SA.
