Beretta O/U Grade I Plywood Stocks....

After some of the comments in the thread above... I decided that I needed to post some pics of my Silver Pigeon's Grade I Plywood stock...:D

Ok, that's better..../ Grade I is certainly not going to be a show piece...but that looks like decent wood on your gun !!

but I'm still chuckling about the glue layup on that photo of plywood that was on the other thread...

I thought this was going to be about their X-Tra Grain plain grain enhancement/stain/laserscorch/whatever it is. Some of the ones I've seen look like plywood. Oh well, at least they aren't X-Tra Wood veneer.

I hope you washed after you shot that Beretta klawman...

......you don't want that nasty Beretta smell..on that new Browning Citori XS Skeet that you have .../ .... ( us Browning guys need to stick together ...we like our big chunky guns )...

I did have to talk real nice to my XS Skeet before it would behave.

I have seen it, and I think I shot it. That is a very nice gun.

You shot this one.... You commented about how light and sexy it was :D

I don't know... When I pick his gun up, I want to drink the Browning Kool-Aid... KlawMan's XS, smashes those clays and swings very nice..

It smashes them great for everyone but me. I can only be sure to break one if I sneak up on a pesky skeet and jump on it with both feet.

Let's not forget, Browning is a gun importer, not a gun maker. On the other hand, Beretta has been making guns for nearly 500-years! I traded my US branded Japanese O/Us for Italian guns years ago. The Japanese guns had prettier "basic" wood, but I shoot better scores with the Italian guns.

Zippy's right ...Browning makes next to nothing these days...

But for those of us - that are built more like Buffalo's ...than Antelope...the Brownings suit our personality better...:D ...

( I'm way past the point where sexy doesn't matter anymore..)....like the young lady at the espresso stand that said I sure smelled nice one day .. ...( and the punch line was... yes, just like my grandpa) .... I mean it was nice to get a compliment,,,,but geez....( and I turned around and my wife was laughing so hard, I thought she was going to wet her pants ) ...and she said ok, you can let your breath out now and relax your stomach...

sexy doesn't enter into the equation anymore..../ but for you guys that like these Italian guns ...ok, I understand...

Jim,

I'm not little by any stretch and in general the Beretta's fit me better than most Brownings...

As you know ....its not our "stature" .....its about the dimension from the shoulder to the cheek bone.../ some guys have "no necks"....and we're all somewhere in between.

"Fit" for me changes a little ...if I gain a lot of weight / or lose a lot of weight ( yeah, that's funny ..) ....but I tend to accumulate some weight in my cheeks...etc ....and if I were not shooting a parallel comb gun ...it would make an even bigger difference.

One of the reason I like the Browning XS Skeet models ...with the adj combs...is they're parallel to the rib ...and a little adjustment seasonally ...can dial the gun in for me. Browning has more guns with parallel combs - than Beretta. The thicker grip area on the Browning Citoris, especially if they have a palm swell, fits my big paws better too. Berettas tend to be slimmer in the grip area...

If the Beretta fits you ....then in general, the Browning Citori's will not Fit you ...and vice versa...
