Got my new issue of America's 1st Liberty yesterday, an don the back was an ad for the new Model 87 Target.
Are these out yet? Has anyone shot one? How much are they going for? It looks like a really nice target pistol, I'm looking for something to augment my S&W 22A.

I have one and I've shot about 300 rounds through it. I am very happy with mine.
They aren't cheap, but quality usually isn't.
It's a very well made pistol and it shoots well. It cost me $550. I don't regret my
purchase one bit. The pistol is all metal including the magazines. It comes with 2 mags. It also comes with 2 interchangeable front sights to tailor to your shooting preferance. The optics mounting rail is also
very useful because it runs almost the entire
length of the pistol. I'm going this Saturday to shoot again. Can't wait. E-mail
me directly with any specific questions and I'll be more than happy to answer them. I've held one of the Smith 22's and I was not impressed. I think the Berreta has a better fit and finish.

wirenut, what other pistols did you consider before buying the 87 Target? I'm trying to decide between getting a Target version Hammerli Trailside or the Model 87.
Thanks in advance,

I was considering a target trailside but got tired of waiting. I waited 6 months. I was also considering the brownings but heard some
nightmare stories about their customer service. There is a web site dedicated to dissapointed browning customers. There were so many I could not believe it. July 2000 Handguns magazine has a very favorable article regarding the model 87. The article helped me decide. Volquarten custom makes a mkII that looks interesting.
This is the web address. http://www.volquartsen.com/index2.htm
