hi guys,
i'm just new to guns and i'm interested to buy
this beretta model 87 target, it looks good and
it fits well in my hand. somebody told me that
beretta had a bad reputation when it comes to
22 lr target pistol, is this true? can owners of
this gone give me some feedback. or should i just
buy the ruger markII.

thanks a lot....

Beretta 87

I have owned several of the high end Beretta 89's that came before the model 87. I found them to be superbly incredible in every way. I would highly reccomend the new 87. Nothing wrong with a Ruger MkII, I have a Suppressed one myself but its a little like comparing a Ferrari to a Volvo Sation wagon. Both will get you there but its not the same ride.

I own one. It gets about 300 rounds a week shot through it. Great pistol. Very accurate with standard velocity ammo, very reliable. Beats my Mk II in both the aforementioned catagories. The trigger on the 87T is a very crisp 4# but I was expecting it to be just a hair lighter.

Hmm. Went out with a friend that was shopping for an XD, and saw a NIB 87 Target on display.

Never seen one before, no real interest in a 22 but handled it anyway...

Pretty, great feel (except for the grip checkering being a bit too agressive IMO) and built in weaver rail is a big plus for a target toy.

Went back to the store after work and picked it up. I expect it to be a superb shooter, but at worst it will complement my collection and be a fun social shooter.

Hoping to save lots on ammo $$ as well.

I'll report more after I strip / lube / shoot tomorrow.
