Beretta Model 71

Norman, the Beretta Model 71 was manufactured from 1959-1989. Apparently there are two versions of the Model 71, one with a 6" barrel (pictured above) and those imported to the USA prior to 1968 fitted with a 3.5" barrel (pictured below). In the USA this pistol was also marketed as the Jaguar Plinker.

The Model 71 was single-action with an alloy frame and was chambered in .22 LR with a 8-shot magazine. Finish was typically blued with an adjustable rear sight and checkered plastic grips. Today in excellent condition a Model 71 might be worth about $150-$200 USD. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately i can't see the pics, there seems to be no link!!??!!.

The one i've got has fixed sights and holds 9 Rds in the mag. The slide catch/latch does not look like the ones i've seen in other pictures.

I've got a 3'5 inch barrel.

Any guesses as to when it was made? The grips also says Beretta right next to the safety but it's a different and much less elaborate logo like the ones i've seen on pics. It's not something like the regular beretta seal if you know what i mean.
