Beretta Mod. 71, 380 With loose clip

I am trying to help my Brother. He has a Beretta Mod. 71 that shoots a 380. He bought it used but he is concerned about using it.

When he seats the clip it doesn't seat fully by a small amount.

He is concerned about shooting it.


Is this normal that the clip doesn't seat fully?

I have a few pistols that the mags don't fit flush slight gap . If mag locks in and will chamber a round. Load a couple rounds and try shooting it.
Or have a gun smith check it out might cost you a few bucks .

I guess I have to ask what is a "small amount"? Perceptible movement? Thickness of a couple of sheets of paper? 1/4 inch?
