Beretta M1934

Anyone ever own/fire a Beretta M1934? I occasionally see the original Italian and East European copies for sale at some of the C&R sites and auctions for about $300. Looks like it might be a fun little pistol to own.

Any thoughts?

The next coming of the MAK it's not.

I got one from SOG a couple of months ago. It is definetly not "unissued". I would rate as excellent with bluing around 90-95%. The frame and slide have matching numbers. The safety doubles as a slide lock and must be engaged to eject the magazine (which is tight). Sights are very short and with my eyes just about useless. It is about 1" shorter than my EG MAK which makes it a nice size for CCW & fits the hand nicely.

The first time I had it to the range my wife and I put 50 rounds of Winchester white box 95 FMJ (only ammo my gun shop had) thru it . When I loaded 7 rounds in both mags the 2nd and 3rd rounds failed to feed properly. When only 5 rounds were loaded there was no feeding malfunction. Recoil is nil. My wife doesn't like my Mak but had no complaints with the Beretta. Accuracy was so-so. I put most of my rounds in the left 8 & 9 rings but got a few into the 10 ring. My wife's rounds were low in the 8 ring. Clearing the mag is a pain in the butt (maybe I'm missing something). The slide has to be all the way back and locked with the dual safety or all the way forward. When the last round is fired the slide stays back but not enough to eject the mag.

The 2nd time I had it out I put 50 rounds each of Fiocchi 95gr FMJ, Blazer 95 gr TMJ, American Eagle 95 gr FMJ, and Novosbirsk green box. All but the cheap Russian ammo cyled without any problems when loading a full mag. The Fiocchi had the best groupings and accuracy. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd rate it as a 7.
