Beretta Jetfire .25 ACP to .22

My buddy recently gave me his beat to hell Beretta Jetfire chambered in .25ACP to fix. THe recoil spring is broken (looks like someone tried to pry it out with a pair of wire cutters) and everywhere I have been able to find parts has been sold out of the .25ACP recoil springs. He said he would be willing to drop the money on making it a .22, if possible. Since every website with parts seems to have .22 parts in abundance, I was curious if by changing the slide, barrel, and internals over to .22 parts, I would be able to convert it over?

Here is the website I have been looking on with the most parts: http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/ctgy/beretta-950-jetfire-pistol-parts

Most of the parts seem to be used in both calibers, but there are also quite a few that are specific to caliber, which I would need to change out with the current .25AP parts.

I know this is OT, but it made me remember to ask; someone made a small .22 magnum, about this size, and most were stainless, and had a good firing pin safety. Do any remember who made these, as for the life of me, I do not?

Cool thanks guys I appreciate it. I figured as much but had to make sure I didn't end up losing a finger test firing the thing after replacing the necessary parts to convert it to .22 short. Will also pick up a .25 recoil spring from that website just in case he ever wants to switch it back over - thanks Kgviens.
