Beretta holster

Son-in-laws birthday is coming up and I want to get him an OWB holster for his semi 9MM Beretta pistol. Do I need to find out a model no. etc. or can I just order a holster for a 9MM Beretta and counting on it being a good fit?

I second having to know the model. At times the exact model may not fit. Examples, early Sig Pro 2022 is not the same as the later version. Sig 1911 is not the usual 1911. Holster type, friction or lock. Lock types button or lever and at what level.

Shows are IMO largely entertainment but can be useful for non common fit trial or just to explore. Even specialty accessory sellers will get fits about what works with what. Best to take a sample or look forward to another trip. :o

You absolutely need to know the model, Beretta makes a bunch of different handguns. Even the with the M9/92 series pistols, you still need to know the model. M9A1's, Vertecs, and 92A1's will not fit standard Beretta M9/92 holsters.

I've said this before that I think finding a holster that you like is harder than finding a gun you like.

Whatever you decide to buy your son-in-law make sure there is a return policy and save the receipt!

Thanks all. It is a Beretta 9mm 92F. I am hoping that is all the info I need as I don't have access to the pistol before his birthday.

Now that's the truth.

When you finally find a holster maker you like, life gets a lot easier. What type of holster are you considering? Kydex? Leather? I made the switch from kydex to leather a few years ago and have not looked back. My go to has been Bravo Concealment. I currently use the RTT, BCA and Acer; all are great for their intended purpose..

I also use their mag holders as well.

Good luck.

Holsters are definitely harder to find than a gun.

Then you gain weight, loose weight.... Wear a different style of clothes.... And it all starts over

The 92F is a very good pistol. There are many holster makers that make holsters for it. For leather holsters I prefer Bianchi, for non-leather holsters I like Blackhawk holsters. You should have no problem finding them but you might have a problem choosing which one since there are so many. This may be a little off point but if he ever wants a companion carbine to team up with it the Beretta CX4 Storm carbine can be configured to use the same magazines as his 92F pistol. I have both and they are quite enjoyable on the range.

There can also be a break-in period for holsters as well!
There are holster lubes out there like Quick Draw and others that work well for the initial break-in.
