beretta grip interchangeability

My Beretta 96FS inox has the hogue soft rubber grip panels on it. Not the wrap around finger groove style, just panels. I hate these grips! They increase the girth of my Beretta to slightly uncomfortable proportions. That, coupled with the heavier recoil of the .40 has me shooting this gun very inconsistently. I shoot my standard 92's with the black plastic grip panels much better and would like to know if these will swap out straight across with the hogue panels. My inox also has stainless hex grip screws... will these work with the plastic grips, or will they be too long considering the greater girth of the hogue panels? I would try this swap if I was at home, but I'm away and don't have access to allen wrenches till I get home. Also if anyone is interested in swapping these grips for some standard black plastic ones, I'd be very interested. My grips are like new. Thanks!

Yes, those grips are totally interchangeable. So are the hex head grip screws. Sorry though, I don't have a set of grips I could swap with ya.

I don't know if your Hogue use washers but with the stock Beretta made plastic grips you must use the locking washers. The screws are the same.

No washers in my 92FS stainless, which also has the Hogue panels. I love these grips! As Robb said, they must be used with the plastic grips or you get problems with screws working loose.

I'll swap with you. I've got a new set of black plastic Beretta factory grips including the washers, which I took off of my Beretta 96 when new. Check your email.

Yes, but as said earlier, the black plastic grip panels were designed with washers so you will need them.

Speaking of such, if anybody has a clean set of military M9 grip panels (with the drawing number on the back) I'll buy 'em off ya.
