Beretta Elite II vs Glock 17

OK. Both are good and reliable pistols. I shoot a lot so I would like to know which one pstol is going to last longer? Which one is more durable and why?
Thanx!

I've heard of several G17s that have over 100,000 rounds through them and are functioning just fine with no parts changes other than springs. I've never heard of a Beretta going that long.

I have a good buddy who is retired special forces, and he has a Glock 19 that he swears he has put over 50,000 rounds through. I believe him, because (1.)I know how much he likes to shoot, and (2.) he used to operate a shooting range.

I am of the opinion that there simply isn't another pistol out there than can compare to Glocks in the durability department. Revolvers are a different story, of course, but you aren't asking about revolvers!

The Glock is a lot more durable.

That said, I think the Beretta should last a long time too. Very few people actually shoot enough to wear a quality gun out.......

Actually, the polymer Ruger P-Series (95,97) are very close to Glocks' durability. I think if they were tested enough, they might even prove an equal (just my prediction). The P95 was tested out to 20,000 rounds of the hottest +P+ and showed "little to no signs of wear" or loss of accuracy. I am sure if Ruger continued the test that it would keep on ticking way past 20,000 rounds. They are just built like a tank and the polymer frame rails can take a ton of battering IMO. Considering +P+ is very hot, normal ammo through a Ruger P95 would be a piece of cake.........

Why not just buy both? You're allowed to own both a pickup truck (Glock) and a sports car (Elite II).
