Beretta Cougar sights

Got a small problem that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with.

I picked up a Cougar .45 a while back and while it is a nice pistol I have a slight problem with the sights. It shoots about 2 inches low of POA with all ammo tried. No big deal......just needs a sight adjustment. Well, this is turning out to be a bigger deal than I thought.

Beretta either doesn't have or simply won't sell replacement sights (front or rear) so I can correct this problem. To their credit, they have offered to fix the problem if I send them the pistol but (to me) that is a bit much for such a simple problem. I would prefer to keep this a local operation.

So, my questions for you are........does anybody sell replacement sights for the Cougar series? Can a gunsmith order sights from Beretta or won't they sell them to anyone? I would like to stick with fixed sights after I find a set that will have POA and POI match. I might be willing to go with night sights if they are not terribly expensive.

Thanks for any help.

Joe, I have the same problem with my 8040. Was danced around by a one gun smith on this so for now I have left it go. I did see advertised Trijicon night sights for the Cougar series pistols. I think they were $80-$120 per set, I don't remember exactly and I was going to look further into this and just haven't done so. I did talk to my latest Smith about mounting and bore sighting for me and he said it would be no problem.
Just to let you know though they are out there :)
Hope this helps :)

loknload,

You've got the same problem? Wonder what's going on here? I figured I had a misfit.

Thanks for the info on night sights and bore sighting. I'm guessing if they can bore sight for you there must be different size sights for the 'smith to use.

I'll have to see if I can talk to the local 'smith here and see what he can come up with. I was thinking this was something simple I could do myself before talking to Beretta.
