Beretta Cougar 8045

I am interested in learning about the performance of the Cougar 8045. I have a 92FS, but also like the 45ACP cartridge. Currently I own a couple 1911A1 pistols, and I'm interested in the 45 cal Cougar. Any information would help i.e. how does it perform in general, compared to 1911's and the 92 series? Any pros or cons...

It points like the Beretta 92 you have, and the operating controls are the same.
Like all Beretta's, it is rather large for what it is - a "compact" 8 round .45 ACP.
Take down is the same as a 92, but it puts together differently. It uses a rotary barrel.
Accurate as any Beretta. Fun to shoot.

A short barrelled(under 4"), aluminum alloy framed handgun in 45 ACP. Fortunately, it has a low bore axis that helps in recoil control. Compared to a full-sized steel frame, or a polymer frame with double recoil spring set up, you will notice a difference.
This, of course is predicated on the assumtion that you have experience shooting .45 semi auto.

Sorry, just noticed you have 1911's in your arsenal. IMHO, it compares to a Colt Officers model, with a slightly larger with grip.

My first investment in .45's was an 8045 Cougar. I like mine. I will someday have a trigger job done to smooth out the pull. I enjoy shooting it. I now have several .45's and the Cougar ranks up with them all...220Sig, H&K USP, Glock 21.
I like the way it feels in my hand.

The 8045 is a great pistol. Doesn't seem as well known as some others models. Almost everybody that has one seems to like them. It fits my hand well, and is more accurate than I am. I recomend it.
