beretta bobcat .22

I have one, it's junk. If I fill the mag to capacity, racking the slide will jam it. One less, and it'll still jam after the first round. So I have to subtract two rounds from capacity to have even a remote chance of running a mag without malfunction. The DA trigger isn't bad, the SA is horrible, one has no idea when it's going to break. The sights barely exist, and the orange front (the only thing that would make it marginally useful) wore off, guess it was alergic to Hoppe's #9. The silly location of the mag release makes accidental releases a real possibility.

I've owned one......

On the minus side, I found the model 21 somewhat dated in that it is rather heavy/bulky for a small caliber. And the sights? Just plain useless! Good for short-range work but requires lotsa practice for longer distances.

On the plus side, mine was dead-reliable with an excellent SA trigger and yeh, really FUN to shoot. The tip-up barrel is a very useful feature in that it is so safe and simple to check for one in the tube or to drop one in the tube.

You know how STIFF some mag springs are to load ammo into? The mod 21 is a dream to load up. I also found the fit and finish to be excellent for a small gun.

Had one for many years. Sights....at the ranges this little dude was designed for they are not needed but up to 7 -10 yards its accurate enough.
Functions perfectly with cheap ammo.
Tip-up barrel is THE way to load it IF you read your owners manual which makes it quick to load, unload or check. A great feature.
It's well made and double taps are a natural. Hides in a front pocket with a folded handkerchief in front of it with no problem.
Rather have it than any .25 I've ever shot.
It's my everywhere pistol especially when biking, walking the hood or on fishing trips.
Mags can be pricey.
Took about 2 boxes of shells to get it running without a glitch and its be goin' strong ever since.

My 21 was made in the USA but the mags come from Italy ...go figure.

It's a good pistol

Mine is a hide-out gun in a secret place in my house. Ssshhh. Also makes a good "walking around out back" gun.

Makes for cheap practice with a mouse gun. Saves wear and tear on my P32.

Wood grips available from Beretta. Mmmmmm, nice!

Very accurate for its size. Sights, well, what'd'ya expect from a 1-3/4" sight radius? Paint the front one with White-out, back one too if you want.

Use CCI Stingers to give your target an extra jolt and guarantee proper functioning, although mine works good with any high velocity .22 ammo of "reasonable quality."

Tip up barrel is very handy. Stripping and cleaning are almost too easy. I clean mine with a few Q-Tips and some Hoppe's or BreakFree.

Regards.

My impressions are based on Minx, the 22 Short model.

Reliable. Easy to point. Good trigger.

Relatively in-accurate: 3" at 15ft. Point of impact consistently about 3" right of the point of aim.

Lack of extractor makes unloading misfired cartridges difficult and hazardous. If you must have one such, Jetfire seems like a better option.

A friend used one in self-defense

1 shot to the attackers chest ended the threat, not instantly, but he expired quickly.
be sure to download your mag by 1 for carry
Stingers and any CCI Hv are good.I am getting misfires with Rem HV of late in all guns.
