Beretta Billenium

I saw the Beretta Billenium today at the Mesquite, TX Show this afternoon. WOW! If you haven't seen this pistol, you're missing something.

Yes, it's a 92fs, but, it's made in Italy, not Maryland. It's all steel. No alloy at all. The slide is heavier than a normal 92. It looks heavier even than the Brigadier. The front sight is dovetailed in. It doesn't have all of the warning and disclaimer rollmarks either. The finish is unlike anything I've ever seen. It's not nickle. Nickle is 'warm'. The Billenium has a 'cold grey' finish. It's also expensive. I saw two at the show. One was $1199, ant the other was $1399.

Anybody elso have anything to add?

I saw one yesterday at the gun show in Houston. It was $1020. I really liked the carbon fiber grips, but I am going to wait for a Vertec in Inox.

Music either has to be cleaned up & changed or just eliminated. That thing is PURRRTY  I'd bet shooting it would feel like a 22lr w/ the added weight of the steel frame...
Doubt I'll ever see one in occupied CA :(

I have a little blurb on the Billenium on my my site, along with a link. The gun is over 40 ounces and is only available in 9mm. It's really just for collectors. What I would really like to see is a Beretta Elite or Elite II with the frame mounted sweep-down safety, single-sided.

If Beretta would import its "stock" model (frame mounted safety) at a reasonable cost, I'd buy it immediately.

Or per Viper's suggestion, if the Elite series is made with a frame mounted safety, I'd buy that too.

That music totally interrupted my Type O Negative.

You make big funny!!:D :D :D

I just clicked on it and let my wife listen to it. She was away from the computer and couldn't see the screen. She looked at me like I was at some porn site!:D

Good Shooting

There is no need to have an Elite if there is a frame mounted safety. We could just carry it cocked and locked, like every good pistol. Unless you are talking about the shorter barrel. I have an elite and am not sure I like the stubby look. Do like that decocker though. I want a frame mounted safety on a vertec, in .45!! LAter.
