Beretta A302

Greetings, all --- long time lurker. First-time poster.

A relatively good friend of mine gave me a Beretta A302 as a present.

I love it - except it has a Monte Carlo stock ---- and a fixed-choke barrel with a huge raised comb.

(it's set up for trap shooting).

I think I can adjust the stock downward.

However, I'd like to buy a replacement barrel - preferably with removable chokes. (I trap shoot 3-4 times a year)

Beretta sent me a user's manual (A303 - they said the A-302 manual is out-of-print).

Anyone have good knowledge about this shotgun? It's beautiful - particularly the engraving on the receiver.

I understand the sentimental value it might have, but I really think you'd be better off selling it and buying a new gun with the proceeds. Get what you want and will use instead of trying to force a square peg into a round hole, and destroying its value in the meantime.
 
well - I already have a great 870 wingmaster - as well as a Winchester 1912.

This is my first Beretta.

It sure kicks less than my 1912!
 
It will be a slower response, but write a letter to Average Ed of shotgun Sports mag. He and the readers would love this question.
 
Im a beretta 303 owner and i think you should take the time to put a little money into it. the reason being, you are only going to get a few hundred dollars for it and if you buy a new one there 1200 to 1800 dollars. I made a stock and forearm for mine out of curly dark mapple, and its beautiful. To get you barrle made for chokes it about 300-400 dollars with shipping. So i say keep it!
