I have several quality semis and revolvers, but I have singled this gun out as one of my favorites. I love the feel, weight, and balance of this gun, as well as the decocker. I like the decocker being on the slide because that helps my arthritic grip when I work the slide. I have chosen it for my HD gun, mostly because it is much easier for me to work the slide, with the decocker to keep my hand from sliding off. Anyway, I know everyone is different and has their own preferences, but I just like this gun so much that I had to brag on it. The decocker is only one of the many qualities I like about this gun. I understand that it is almost identical to the 92fs 9mm.

I'm another who really enjoys the 92FS. Mine is Inox, too, with some nice walnut grips, so it looks as good as it shoots. Had it out to the range just yesterday, as a matter of fact, to treat a European friend to a rare-for-her shooting session.

96FS INOX here. I'm amazed at how accurate it is and it has been totally reliable.
Oh, and did I mention, Very Sexy!

I think the 96FS is one of the best .40S&W service pistols I've ever had the pleasure of shooting, and the INOX is one of the prettiest!

Thanks, guys! I was actually planning on using the CZ SP01 because of capacity and it's reliability, but the Beretta 96fs is so much easier for me to rack the slide because of the slide mounted de-cocker keeping my hand on the slide....my arthritic hand and fingers won't slip off. lol.

Unfortunately I am in California and have lots of crazy new gun laws here, but was wondering if I heard this correctly. I was interested in a Beretta 96 A1 but was told by a local gun store that they could only be sold to law enforcement. Is that correct?

The 96 sure did used to be on the California roster. Don't know if it still is. Main problem with 'em is that Beretta does production runs on them very infrequently.
