Beretta 96 in .357 Sig question

The other day I was happily shooting away with my Beretta 96 with a .357Sig barrel in it. Love the round. I was wondering, can the Beretta actually take the beating from this round? There is a pretty fair difference between the pressure developed by the .40 round and the 357.

My two concerns are, ripping up the slide by the locking lug. Some of the literature indicates that when that happens, you could possibly develop a third eye in the middle of your forehead.

And second, the alloy frame cracking for the same reason above.

Comments pro or con welcome.
