I'm looking at a 92G as my next purchase. I picked up this pistol and noticed that it actually fit my hand. I noticed that the backstrap had been cut out a litte. I can finally reach the trigger with no problem. What's the word on this pistol? Anyone have this and/or shot it? Thanks.

The 92G is the same as the 92FS except that the slide mounted lever on the 92G is a "Bobbit" ;)(decocking) lever, whereas the slide mounted lever on the 92FS is a hammer drop safety. Other than this, they're the same gun.

Aztec, is this gun new or a PD trade-in and how much? 92G's are not generally available like the Fs and Ds. That is not including the 92G Elites, I'm talking about the plain blue ones.

Dumb question maybe, but what's the difference between a 92G and a 92G Elite ?

P-35-The 92G is the plain blue one. I have seen the ones with the stainless barrel. It is new and what I think is a reasonable price. Night sights, two 10's and one 15 round mag.

was the 92G new? i ask because the 92G's have the same sized grip as a regular 92FS normally. also was the barrel extended past the front of the slide like on the 92FS. if not it was a 92G Elite. all Elites have a cut in the backstrap to make a smaller grip.

I have a 92FS and a 92G Elite. i like the feel of the Elite better on my smaller sized hands.

The differences between the 92G and 92G Elite are: shorter barrel by i think 1/2" (flush with slide), a heavy brigadier slide (heavier in the locking lug area, this is done to decrease recoil and so that the front and rear sights are dovetailed), skeletonized hammer, the loop for lanyard is gone, a beveled mag well, stainless steel match barrel, recess gun in the beavertail of the grip, bigger better sights, and some other things i can't remember.

i like my 92G Elite alot. its feels better and the sights make a big difference. i also got a trigger job done by Ernest Langdon and it really made a huge improvement.

the G model means that the safety is not a a safety but just a decocker. like a sig if you push the safety down (normally to safe) then it will decock the hammer and then spring back up to fire. i find this much easier to use than the normal safety since the safety is so far out of the way i would never carry it with the safety on anyway.
