I suppose that they could be called screws. You probably know what you're talking about but I've attached a picture of the gun from the Beretta website. How would you get those things off, do you need some kind of special tool. Please forgive my ignorance, I am not very well versed in anything like this.
Use a regular screwdriver.
No special tools. I managed to take most of the Beretta apart with some screwdrivers and punches. I stopped where it came to roll pins (since they should be replaced each and every time you remove them). Mind you, I've plenty of training as an armorer.

Gun screw slots are often shaped a little different than regular screws. It is easy to mar them with regular screwdrivers. The best thing is to get a set of gunsmith screwdrivers - even Walmart sells a nice basic set for $15 or so.
Otherwise, take a look at how the screwdriver fits before you twist. Oftentimes a flat blade, like that in a Swiss Army knife, may fit better and flare the top of the slot less.
But don't worry if you mess them up a little - they're cheap to replace.

Good point Handy. Gun screwdrivers are hollow ground so they fit almost perfectly (at least that's the idea) into the screw. No slop to mar your screw. I've filed screwdrivers to fit and if they're cheap enough (the screwdrivers), why not. Like Handy says, Wallyworld has them and I bought a set for the road.
