Hi Guys,

Just picked one up last week for $379, only had one box of shells through it. Love the size and feel, never felt real comfortable with the full-size model but, I'd love to have one anyway. Was going to buy a new Glock 19C but, when I picked up the 92M I knew it was for me. BTW, accuracy is excellent!

Any other owners out there!?!

Excellent choice! Most people don't get it. A thin 9mm with a full size grip length and a reasonable barrel length is much better than a chopped, chunky bullet box any day. We sell a lot of grip extentions for 9/10mm compacts every day. They then complain about how the thick guns are uncomptfortable for IWB carry.

Two fo the best carry/shooting guns are the Beretta 92c and the S&W 3909 single stacks. The Sig 239 series are very good, but the barrel height gives it a little more muzzle flip.

Shoot often...Shoot well.

Cheers,

ts

When I hurt my back and needed something lighter than my 1911s, I fell into two Type M INOX pistols. After adding Farrar grips and putting a lot of rounds through them, I REALLY like them. The only downside is the occasional scarcity of spare mags.

A great gun. Very accurate and 100% reliable. The only gripes are, still quite large for a "compact single-stack" and the grip is too fat for a single-stack gun. Still trying to get some thin Craig Speigel grips to improve the grip.

As good as the Compact L Type M is, I much prefer my Sig P225. Same exact format in a much more ergonomic gun (for me anyway). The Sig feels smaller and give up nothing to the Beretta. I'll take the Sig any day. But I do understand why you love the Beretta.

Have a 92 SB Compact - L version. It is an Italian model. It is alright. Lousy trigger, doesnt like to be dirty. Accurate. Looks nice. 13 rd mags are tough to come by (at a reasonable price).

I have several of the single stack 8 shot 9mms, and the Beretta 92FC-Type M was my first. I've owned 3, still have 1. The first two were the beautiful polished blue finish and were highly accurate. They also had the original thinner grips. Ex took one, I traded the other off (stupid me), and I finally replaced it with one I bought a few years back. It was a matte finished, round trigger guard last run for some Maryland police department and has factory Trijicons. It is very accurate, but it does have thicker grips than my originals.

If I compare it to my Sig-225, P7PSP, P7M8 and Sig-239, I would probably rank them like this:

- P7
- Sig-239
- Beretta 92FC-Type M
- Sig-225

Love mine, am NOT going to get rid of it. Some people think it is a little big for a 8 shot, and I agree. It's the largest of all my 8 shot single stacks.

Here's a pic of one:

Scroll down to the bottom to see the FC-Type M. The other difference between it and the other 92 series pistols are that it does not have the ambidextrous mag release. On the left side of the pistol only.

the Sig 225 is also a very nice (quality) semi-compact 9mm. I don't care for the design of the trigger guard but, that's a minor quirk of mine. I also had at one time a, S&W 3953 DAO that I liked very much but, ended up selling it to a friend. Wish I had that one back! I just think the 92M has excellent shooting qualities and equals or exceeds the Sig 225 even though it's a tad bit larger. For some unknown reason, I'm very interested in these type of pistols and could care less about the 15+1 mini-guns! Maybe I need to add a 225 to my collection!!!

type m

I have a 92sbctp-m. this is a blue(like a sw revolver) type m with rounded triggerguard.they were imported for law enforcement in 88, but they only sent over 1200. has trijicon sights and extremely smooth action.

My father and I have 9mm 92 Compacts with sequential serial numbers. I hear that’s unusual.

We both have small hands, so these work very well for us. JCO

I have a 92SB Compact Type M, made in '88. Beautiful gun--typical Beretta quality. When I bought it, the dealer had two. I sorta wish I'd bought both of them. :)
