Hey I was thinking about getting a new handgun. Does anybody out there have any info on the beretta 9000s. Good bad or whatever. Anybody out there got one. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I didn't like the way the 9000 fit my hand. However, I love my 96FS. It has been a very accurate, reliable and very well made pistol. I'm seriously thinking about picking up a 92 in the near future.

Beretta 9000

This subject has come up several times in the past and I don't think the 9000 got too many "RAVE" reviews
I for one was not impressed with it and would not purchase one ;)
The Gun Shop I frequent had gotten three of them in for customers and all of them were returned for one reason or another

You may want to consider looking at Berettas Cougar series, They are worthwhile handguns :) And they do make a compact line in them also.

Hope this helps ;)

From what I've seen & heard, the 9000's have suffered form some bad press, a recall re: thumb safety, and some not so positive word of mouth. That said, they did "fix" the thumb safety and those few who have purchased the gun have had some positive feedback...Just not ready to jump on board that ship yet.

Mixed reviews on the 9000s from everyone I've talked with about it. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one yet, but have handled several. I like the fit and feel. I think Beretta will probably stick to their tried and true handgun design - the 92, because the 9000 series just hasn't had the market appeal they had hoped.

They did just put out a new 92 called ther VERTEC - it has a short trigger and a straighter grip than the 92fs (no palm swell on the rear of the grip). It also features the ability to add accessories via a rail system (something the 92 has needed for a while to be a real operator's choice).

Check out a little write up (and some factory marketing) at

It's not even on their website yet, but I know it is shipping to distributors.

I thought about buying one a couple of times. I got to shoot a 40 and it shot very well. I just couldnt get used to the way it felt.
To d*mn wide and short. I carry concealed and felt the gun was
poorly designed for that purpose. Other than that I like the gun
Shoot well
