I have been looking at a Beretta 9000S. Does anyone own one,if so how does it shoot, are you pleased with it. Anyone that can give me any information on it I would appreciate it.:)

I'm afraid I can't help you out much there as I haven't fired one.

My initial impressions after looking at one though were not favorable. I didn't like the feel or the seriously hard time I had trying to get ahold of a piece of the slide to rack it. It just wasn't one of those guns that makes me want to buy it.

I have heard from a few on the internet that really like it, so it may just be my personal preference.

Beretta 9000

I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with Shake on this one. I'm a big fan of the Cougar series and I looked at the 9000 in 9mm. I have to say I believe it's a stinker, Just my thoughts;) It didn't fit the hand right and it didn't feel right. The controls to me didn't seem in the right spot and they were hard to operate.
The Gun Emporium I frequent had gotten three of them in and were sold, everyone of them came back and were returned.
I'd look long and hard at this one :)

Beretta 9000S

Thanks for the information. I found a article in Handguns Magazice that pretty much squash the idea of looking any further into the 9000. The article said controls were difficult, problem jamming, and the slide was awkward to work when loading.

I kind of like the idea...the gun looks very spiffy, if a little wide in the slide for a pistol of that size. I did notice that the slide was a little hard to rack, and the safety lever was very stiff. Wouldn't mind owning one since I like Berettas, but it looks like they didn't really hit one out of the park with this one...

lendringser,

I really like Beretta's full sized guns too (ie. 92/96 and the cougar series), but I just haven't had that great of success with their smaller guns.

Maybe one of these times they'll get it right.
