I heard that this model had the tilting barrel for single round insertion, but from the pictures, it does not appear to be the case, anyone know for sure????
The Beretta 9000S uses a patented locking mechanism that combines the traditional Beretta "open slide" design with John Browning's classic tilt-barrel locking system. The uniqueness of the design is that the locking lug is below the slide, not on top.

the barrel does tilt up but thats not the reason why its safe to chamber load in them and 92's. 92's at least i know have curved extractors that are less likely to chip and the open slide design also has to do with it. on any other gun its bad to chamber load but it's fine on berettas.
