Beretta 9000 9mm

I understand the 40's were recalled and the safety lever re-worked. Has Beretta improved this model in 9mm or is it still a stay away from pistol?

This pistol kinda intrigues me. Roughly the size of G26 and I can use my 92's magazines w/ adapter apparently .

No thanks

Has been a non seller since its inception, still to big and fat
for a compact, not a hot item.

9000 9mm

I have one in 9mm.........it is nowhere as thick or blocky as some people think. the safety is a little stiff at the start but loosens up ok. accurate.............controllable and may be carried cocked and locked. I own many 9's........Kahr, Glock,Sig and other Beretta's. I think this is a well built gun, and if you prefer Beretta to Glock you should go with it. It is certainly no thicker than a Glock 26.

Thanks...I'm gonna wait till they go on sale locally or I stumble across a used one. Seem like nice units, but not worth taking a risk if their pricing doesn't adjust to attract new owners.

A while back I saw one in .40. Here is what I thought:

It felt nice in my hand. I examined it thoroughly and understand why some people are put off by it. It has radical lines and "swirls" for lack of a better descreption. It appears to be built to last, sturdy, tight, balanced, light(relatively), and pointed easily for me. I had no problems manipulating the controls as was reported as a problem when they first came out. The controls were tight but I could move the safety on/off with my thumb. I figured you could put a 13 rd compact mag in it and have the mag well almost flush fit. The 9000 9mm is designed to hold 12 rds. I think. I know they have spacers for the full 15 rd mags but I'm not sure on the 13 rd mags.

Check out www.berettadefence.com for some additional information. I do hope to augment my collection with a 9000F 9mm someday.

Hope this helps.

Mike

I like the concept that I can use my 92 mags in it.

Biggest problem I have is the safety. Therefore, think I may just go with the "slick sided" version. No lever to deal with, DAO though.
