Beretta 8045

I was considering purchasing the Beretta 8045, and was wondering what people thought about it. Does anyone have any exp. with them? How about hi-caps...are they available? Any info would be appreciated. Oh by the way its either the Baretta or I am going to break down and get a CZ.

While I don't have an 8045, I do have an 8040. I love it. It fits so nice in my inside-the-pants holster and it a great shooter. As for high-caps, in the 40 a high cap only adds 1 round. I am not sure if they even make them for the 45.

The 8045 is an 8+1 shooter, hi-caps don't exist unless you are talking about those ungainly extended floorplate doohickeys.

Great, great gun in any caliber, I want an 8040 or an 8357 real bad.

I have an 8045, and I love it also. A well made rather elegant firearm IMHO. It is very accurate, reliable and a real sweet shooter. My only issue is I have a hard time wit hthe DA/SA transition. I'm more into single action, DAO auto's. It is dimentionally the same size as a Glock 30, but has about an inch more in the grip. I would sure take the Beretta over the CZ any day. Just my $.02

I have an 8045 and love it. fits well in the hand, conceals well and the rotating barrel does an effective job of managing recoil/muzzle flip. I assume you want the CZ calibered in .45ACP, i.e. the CZ97. I don't own one but have lusted for a CZ97 for about a year. If you're going to use the firearm for concealed carry, get the Beretta. If the purchase will not be for concealed carry then i'd consider it a coin flip. Either one, but...gotta get you one........Dan in GA

Lake,

I like my 8045 well enough. It is small enough for CCW, has a good trigger and groups well. Feeds everything I've fed it.

As far as I know there is no such thing as hi-caps for this pistol.

My only problems with the 8045 are: (1) the sights are a bit off. Mine shoots a bit low. Some replacement sights will fix that quick enough. (2) I absolutely -hate- the safety mounted in the slide. Of course, I knew about that "feature" before buying it and I got it anyway.

As far as the CZ-97 in .45ACP goes.......that one is next on my list of "must have" pistols. :) The CZ-75B I picked up recently in 9mm has impressed me enough to convince me to get a 97 to go with it.

Personally, I think you'll be happy with either or (better yet) both.

Have an 8040 and love it :) You won't go wrong with the 8045. :)
Happy Shooting :)
