Beretta 391 Teknys Sporting stock modifications

Hi all,

I am having some custom shims created for me to provide more cast than what that factory-supplied shim system provides. This includes the angled shims as well as the spacers that go inside the stock. Now, if I need to make some extra room inside the stock for the angle of the spring tube, what method would you suggest I use to ream some of the wood out? Thanks!

Be careful....

Chris,
I have quite a bit of experience with this shim system, and I would be very careful with "custom shims". Most of the attempts that I have seen have resulted in split stocks over time. I would suggest that if you truely need more cast deminson than the shims allow, you should consider shaving wood from the comb to get to the deminson that is needed.

You are getting these deminsons from an experienced gunfitter, right?

I have a 391 Teknys Gold Trap. Another option is have Gra-Coil or another reputable firm/Gunsmith install an adjustable comb that will allow you to adjust the cast. Mine adjusts in more ways then I would ever use. This would also assist in adjusting for better overall fit.
