i really like the looks of this gun and it seems to be fairly affordable especially for beretta quality. i am interested in the 12ga w/ 26 inch barrel. from what i understand its even made in the states which makes it even better. can someone give me some information to see how they like it and how reliable and practical the gun is for shooting clay birds, some small game and maybe even some water fowl hunting.

I probably should not be answering this as I don't have a 3901 but I do own a 390. All I can say is that it has NEVER failed to function for me and I do a lot of shooting with it. Personally, I would opt for a 28" barrel, but then again, I have Skeet guns with 26" barrels that work fine. I guess I just like the longer barrels for some unknown reason. Berreta's are great guns.

I used to have one of those in 20 gauge. It was a pretty good gun, but I sold it because I just didn't fall lin love with it. Maybe it was that ugly gray stock and the loud clank when it cycled.
It did function flawlessly, cycling light and heavy loads equally. It was easy to clean, and it was a good value at $500 new. It had light recoil and swung smoothly. Come to think of it, I might consider it again if I feel the need for an inexpensive dove gun.
