Is there any other variant of the Beretta 1951 Egyptian that I can use the parts from? Interchangeable parts?

I am looking for a locking block for the barrel.

sarco and Numrich, and apex do not have them in stock.

I had the Italian 1951 and wonder if the Egyption was made in Italy ? The whole locking block question brings to mind my own experiences . Ye the block failed .yes I "hand made a new one !! Why it failed was never explained to me .The German gun with similar block didn't have the same problems as far as I know . I always wondered if it was originally for the Italian 9mm Glisenti] which has the same dimensions but lighter loads . Interesting that the newer Beretta has a repair kit which includes the block !

You mean the Helwan Egyptian copy of Beretta 951? Or a real Beretta contract gun from before the Egyptians tooled up to make their own?

There is an interesting thread on THR where a Helwan with peened locking block gets a whole new lease on life in spite of the fact that blocks were scarce and would not likely last any better if they were. The dollar cost was low but the labor was intensive; a great DIY for the skilled and equipped, but you would not want to pay to have it done to a surplus pistol.

I don't know much about them. I thought this is a military version and not Helwan or commercial.

I can't do a DIY project. not handy enough

I had mine when I was in gunsmithing school.one of the students after shooting mine and getting info from me went to a gun show .The importer was there .When he asked the importer about the gun the importer turned and walked away. He must have been too embarrased to answer .Obviously t here were many problems !
