i am thinking about getting this one over the stoeger.. they are NEAR the same price... and i just think that benelli makes abetter shotgun... anyone have this particular shotgun?

I've got one, with the rifle sights. Love it. Love that I can shoot 2.75" / 3" / 3.5".

Never had a single problem with it. If something were to happen to it, there would be no question as to what I would buy to replace it. Another benelli nova.

Sorry, I hated my Nova 20ga. Not the tactical, just normal.

The action wasn't smooth to me, pretty clunky. Even after a thorough cleaning and lube the thing still needed a good pull for it to cycle. Didn't like the angled ramp either...threw me off in clays.

I sold it a few months later after giving it a good 800 rounds or so at the trap range. I'm contemplating a Mossberg at this point. My friend's 500 Persuader feels like butter compared to the Nova.

Have the tactical model with 18.5 bbl ghost ring sights and extended mag tube which gives me 7+1. Just added side saddle for a total of 12 rds. I have about 600 rds through it and no problems. PA180005.JPG

I've got a 500 persuader and I love it. Great fun shooting at beer cans or put on the stock and fire clays with no problem at 40 yards, with only a 20" barrel to boot! It has never misfired or jammed either. Solid gun.

gordo,

I don't see where the text is linked. Do you have info on any trigger work you may have done?

Thanks.

Too hard to link to the thread; I put a MUCH lighter trigger spring in using a big assortment of generic springs of similar size. That got me down to 7 pounds from 14! Then I honed the sides of trigger and gently stoned the sear very slightly to bring it down to 5 pounds and crisp. I welded up a bigger head on the safety that looks like a Vang safety by TIG welding. I cut the stock down on a milling machine to 13" with a Limbsaver specialty pad made for Bennellis but I still had to fabricate an aluminum pillar to support it down the center- a big hassle. Tactical Tailor single point sling ties on nicely. Factory mag extension and the factory lightmount, which I cut down 1/4" to mount between the factory clamp and tube instead of out front. I got a set of LPA tritium sight replacements which replace the factory lpa blades. Lot of work, but it still is not as slick as an 870P:cool:

gordo,

Thanks for the info. I agree on the 870 comparison, which is my preference. The only reason I have the Novas, is if I want to take them some place wet/rough and don't want to risk an 870. (I don't have the emotional attachment to the Novas, that I do to the 870s...)

Thanks again.
