I am trying to find out what the "improvements" are to the gas systems of the latest Browning BAR and Remington Model 750. Are they really "better"?
The Benelli R1 has the gas orifice closer to the chamber so "the gas is hotter" and there is "less fouling" BUT there must be a lot more unburned powder driven down the orifice. I like the Benelli only because it comes apart so the inside of the receiver can be cleaned well.
The latest "improved" Browning BAR; I can't find a technical explanation of what they did with the gas system or how it makes it "better".
The Remington Model 750 is another "improved" rifle that I can't find a technical explanation of what they did or how it makes it "better".
Both the Browning and Remington are hard to clean inside the receiver.
Can anyone shed some light on these "improvements"? Thanks.
